Chairman’s report  AGM April 2004

 

1.      Welcome and thanks
Thank you to all the committee members
Particular thanks to Officers Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer
Rose and George for collecting subs at Post Office

2.      Public Inquiries
Market Lane
application 300+ houses turned down
Slough BC have just overturned Green belt at Wexham and will allow substantial house build there. Expect same here in a few years time given pressures of no land in Slough.
Response re 3rd runway - deferred until air quality meets EU standards

3.      Planning issues
Land behind homes in North Park being developed
Donald King land Bathurst Walk plans for 2 small flats planning agreed.
Land in Main drive 6 houses and another 6 on corner.

4.      RPRA Assets
Maintenance of the garden – thank Tony Symes

5.      106 Thorney Mill Rd
Meeting with Living Spaces this Sunday 10.30am.  Looking for grant plus support from Bardons and others.  We aim to produce a woodland garden for community use.

6.      Highways
Road narrowing – Richings Way and North Park continue to be controversial
Pot holes and drains.  Also sweeping footpaths.

 

7.      Traffic speed and volume.
Speed Indicator device used on North Park and Thorney Mill Road. 
Cape Boards, what is happening?  Rumours of Trade sales to store cars.  Car Transporters will be traveling through village or Richings Park?

 

8.      Environmental issues
Incinerator Colnbrook
Protest meeting Slough earlier this pm.  Also proposed multi modal waste transfer station on land between canal and railway beside traveler site.
Motorbike noise Railway land – many complaints, Thank Mike Quincey also others who complained.  RPRA have written letters in support.
Introduce Richard Swan from South Bucks Environmental Health
