Notes for Chairman’s report  AGM April 2005

 

1.      WELCOME AND THANKS
Thank you to all the committee members
Particular thanks to Officers Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer and Pene who wants to retire.
Rose and George for collecting subs at Post Office

2.      Welcome Mike Hillyard , Bill Lidgate
Bill Lidgate as our County Councillor for last 4 years.  He has been to many of our committee meetings.

3.      PUBLIC INQUIRIES
Bucks CC Minerals and Waste local plan which proposes a multi modal waste transfer station at Richings Park.  Inquiry running our evidence on Friday 6th May PM
Crossrail comment potential car parking requirement to feed the train service of 4 trains an hour.

4.      Planning issues
More houses being demolished and replaced with larger houses e.g. 27 Syke Ings
Donald King land Bathurst Walk plans for 2 small flats agreed but no movement since then.  Now 12 months have passed.  Main drive site progressing fast.

5.      RPRA Assets
Maintenance of the garden – thank Tony Symes.
Also proposing including the common land Station Land in our assets, seeking land registration.
Maureen Worrall and Iver Parish carrying out improvements at the Mound.

6.      106 Thorney Mill Rd
Grant obtained £23,738 for improvement of this area.  Groundwork TV doing work. Currently negotiating with the Environment Agency (because of river).  Completion July 2005 will be about 3 or 4 weeks work on site once plans all agreed.

7.      Highways
Road narrowing – Richings Way and North Park continue to be controversial
Pot holes and drains.  Also sweeping footpaths. Call Highways on call to report any highways problem 0845 230 2882.

8.      Traffic speed and volume.
More disturbing is the delay of the speed limit review.  Comment

 

9.      Environmental issues
Incinerator Colnbrook
We were sent the full environmental conditions that Grundons will have to comply with.  Only covered the main incinerator.  Conditions very stringent.  Recent report that Japanese technology has been adopted for site.  Also they may now have sufficient contracts for waste to process.
Motorbike noise Railway land – still some noise but less recently.
Vandals and damage at station
