MATTERS
ARISING:
The enforcement order on Cappagh has been appealed. Alan will speak to Environmental Health.
Alan has been in contact with the senior solicitor Helen Whitely who thinks that it is worth giving adverse possession a try. Alan will get a statement from Mick Crowther for her, so she can go ahead.
MEETING
re.
The meeting took place in the church. There were some issues re. The police not turning out and blaming the railway police. There are four youths who are suspected of causing the problems. One of these already has an ASBO. The other three are to be issued with them. Mr Slaven (Station manager ) was supposed to be present as he has a sum of money to be spent on improving security. He did not appear but suggestions for the money were monitored CCTV and fencing along the path. There will be a larger meeting to be held on January 26th.

LIBRARY CLOSURE
The petition has c. 600 names. Alan will present it to council on Thursday. Letters of objection will be accepted up to the 23rd December.

Some railings and planting still need to be done so we are aiming for an early spring opening. (March or April).

PLANNING
Jill Dutfield of Old Slade Farm has approached residents of the Poynings to see if they will support her application.
31 The Poynings – This was sold by auction. Building materials have been arriving and there is now a small bungalow structure at the rear. (This is fine as long as it is not habitable). Graham should contact Jane Carter at SBDC to express concern.
Fourells – There are two garden buildings possibly being used as accommodation for Bardons’ drivers. Alan to mention at the next planning meeting.
39 Syke Cluan – Do they have permission as building has already started?

Wendy gave out the latest subscription totals.

Wendy reported that Bison’s ‘lets are being
advertised as
Tony reported that over the last few weeks, his house is shaking even worse than before. He will get in touch with Alison Derrick the regional co-ordinator.
Tony went to Grundon’s meeting re. The
incinerator. He left feeling far less worried. It will be monitored live by the
Environment Agency and can be shut down immediately if required. All negative
information is coming from extremely old data. The new incinerators will be up
and running in 2008. There is no household waste coming from

Alan B also reported that Bardons are tipping outside again and that Hydrex are working after 10pm.
Brian commented on the lack of traffic wardens and dangerous parking of white van on corner of Bathurst Walk and Syke Ings. Alan Oxley will speak to Mike Hilliard.
The Vitality House Signs are still up. Alan has had no reply regarding them as yet but will chase it up. Also North Star pub signs should not be on the other side of the road.
The Parish Lights will be set up on a timer. Alan will try to arrange for our lights to be plugged in with them. Alan will put up the Christmas lights. The Parish lights will be switched-on on Saturday 3rd December.
