APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE:  Maureen Worrall, Susie Davies, Tony Connolly, Wendy Morris

ABSENT:  Paul Lake, Alan Barrett

MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING:  were agreed and signed.

MATTERS ARISING:

Enforcement order on Cappagh is in place, and they are allowed six months to be clear of site.

Blue double decker school buses seem to be parking on Bisons site at intervals during the day.

Increased HGV operations – Daphne read out the letter from Val Letheren, Cabinet Member for Transportation at Bucks C.C.) in reply to her letter expressing concern at the applications for an additional 68 HGVs and 35 trailers since the end of June.  The reply from Val Letheren intimated the C.C. was aware of the problems but couldn’t interfere with rulings of the Traffic Commissioner.  Alan said that she was willing to come to Iver to see the problems and it was felt this would be a good idea.                                                                                                                                  A.O.

There is to be a meeting at Iver Junior School at 7.30p.m. on Wed. 7th December to discuss the Transport Plan and Alan hoped some committee members would go in his absence.  The Air Quality action area may affect consideration for some future planning ideas.

RAILWAY STATION LAND

Alan had met with Ivan Bowman of Hines Associates, who made enquiries of Land Registry and it appears it would be difficult to claim adverse possession except by fencing or maybe erecting notices (check with Hines).                                                                                                          A.O.

IMPROVING IVER RAILWAY STATION

Muktar Ali and his neighbours in Bathurst Walk have arranged a meeting on Friday, 18 November at 6 p.m. at the Cornerstone premises.  This will be attended by Dominic Grieve, Alan Oxley, British Rail police, Mike Hillyard, local shopkeepers and anyone else interested.

DATES OF NEXT MEETINGS

Tuesday, 22 November (revised date)         Apologies from Daphne

Wednesday, 18 January

CHAIRMANS REPORT

Bucks C.C. Waste and Mineral Plan – the report states that it is reasonable for Bucks C.C. to preserve the site because of its unique position.  It is not considered suitable for a waste site and no more gravel pits are to be excavated.

Grundons Incinerator contract is to be let out to a Japanese company.  Alan has seen a smaller operation near Southampton where the monitoring and emissions were controlled, whereas the Slough Estates incinerator appears not to have the same controls.

There is a Bardons Liaison meeting at 2 p..m. on Tuesday, 25 October at Richings Park Golf Club if anyone else wants to attend.

PROPOSED LIBRARY CLOSURE

Alan has made a formal objection to the proposal, which in the case of Richings Park would only save £100,000 a year of total budget.  A public consultation has begun to consider the impact of the closure and the provision of mobile libraries.  It was felt that it would be a community loss, affect vulnerable residents and have a knock-on effect on local shop-keepers, and these facts should be highlighted.  Wendy Jenner is willing to organise a petition and we should get publicity for Richings Park in the local press.                                                                                                 A.O.

OPENING OF 106 THORNEY MILL ROAD

Work should be completed now, and Alan has sent off the official application for the money.  Living Spaces have overspent slightly but Groundwork have funded the shortfall.  There is some fencing to do, which can be sorted by DIY offers.  We need to organise an official opening and invite people who have been involved.  Various ideas for the event were discussed.

A.O.B.

Alan will do an Autumn Newsletter to incorporate the proposed library closure and the opening of 106 Thorney Mill Road.

Graham reported that the Residents Association website is up and running and he needed more contributions.  Mayb e members would like to take responsibility for a page each.

Maureen A. commented on the seasonal mess in Somerset Way, with fallen leaves and flooded areas making it difficult to walk down the road in places.  Alan would remind County re. Kerbing.

                                                                                                                                                A.O.

Matthew felt that the brickwork and manhole covers had not been replaced satisfactorily by B.T./Skanska  after cable work had been done.  It needs to be reported to Highways on Call on 0845-230-2882 who will refer it to Tony Broderick, the Utilities Inspector.                        M.McE

Daphne had been spoken to by Pam Revell re. The parking in Somerset Way near the corner, creating  potential accident opportunities and difficulties for school buses.  She asked whether double yellow lines could be considered.  Alan would raise this with Highways.                A.O.

The meeting closed at 10 p.m.
