At the request of our local councillors, Heathrow has visited a number of illegal airport 'meet and greet' car parking sites in and around the Iver area with the Metropolitan Police, and discussed with Bucks County Council (BCC) to establish the current planning permission / enforcement status of each one. BCC was already aware of a number of them. None of the sites currently have planning permission. The companies tend to set up site first and then apply for planning permission. When permission is denied, they appeal and are able to continue operating during the appeal stage. If the appeal is subsequently refused the council often then has to go through a lengthy enforcement process to evict them. The car owners may not even be aware their cars are being parked on illegal sites. Heathrow is considering a response to the issue.
