R.P.R.A. local projects

As a committee, we have been looking at ways we can enhance Richings Park as a community. Small working groups were set up to investigate what we could do.

We have some funds available for this thanks to your annual subscriptions as well as the fundraising we have done in the past

These are our ideas

  1. A mobile book swap could be located near the Lotus Wellbeing clinic, where a mobile container could be wheeled in and out and stored indoors outside office hours. A possible permanent storage unit like a telephone box will need planning permission.

  2. Plant more mature trees across the park – although we may have some restrictions as Bucks Council owns the verges, they do not actively maintain them as much as we would like.

  3. We are planning a new notice board opposite Iver station advising what can be found in Richings Park, with directional signs to Parks, the residents of Kingfisher Garden, transport options (that caused a laugh), and a bit about the park's history.

  4. Interpretative boards in the Residents Garden (Next to Blu Dry Cleaners)  and Kingfisher Garden (on Thorney Mill Road by the River Colne ) with information about each site and its history. We likely have funding for this from Heathrow and are planning what to put on the boards.
